The Strong Girl Campaign was created to enlighten, empower & engage girls around (16-23 years) in our immediate local community with knowledge & practical Life Skills.
Why focus on girls ?
Girls face unique and different challenges than their male counterparts. Adolescent girls face poorer health outcomes, are more likely to become infected with HIV, are more socially isolated, are less likely to make the transition to secondary school or to complete it, and have fewer income-generating opportunities. Once a girl drops out of school, contracts HIV/AIDS, or becomes an adolescent mother, she is often left with few opportunities to get out of poverty. While the problems facing girls across the world are expansive, if you invest in girls through education and life skills, help them avoid child marriage and teen pregnancy, and build their confidence and sense of value, you give them a chance to succeed. You unlock their economic potential. And you set in motion economic change that lasts for generations.
